Home again, home again, jiggity-jog

So, this weekend Matthew and I went to Seattle for SakuraCon...and now I know I shall never go to another convention again. Ever.
To start out we drove four hours, (that was the fun part!) and we had an epic conversation on the way, so I'm totally cool with that. But then we actually get there; first of all, we couldn't check into the Camlin (worldmark) until 4, and because I had a pre-ordered ticked but Matt didn't we had to go stand in line to buy him one...for six hours!!!
I don't want to go into detail about the horror of that time. I will say that for the first three hours we got to hang out with Beetlejuice (he was awesome!) but overall it was a terrible time. We weren't allowed to sit down because it was a fire hazard, and I was starving with low blood-sugar, so I kept swaying and just feeling horrible. Matt's amazing though! He stood for more then four hours before sitting down. (Yes, everyone sat at some point, I did it multiple times. :P) He's awesome.
So then we finally get out of line and zoom over to subway to get foodstuffs (he messed up my order though, grr!) and then on to my line which was thankfully non-existent. So then we call Mithril and try to decide where to meet up, (at the lobby of our hotel since enough time had passed that we could check in! 11-5, seriously?!) By this time I admit I was in a severely bad mood, but I was trying to not let it get to me, so we snuggle-bamphedity-loved for a while. Us girlies went to their hotel, and Matthew went on to find Hunter; it kinda sucked but since Mithril and Nicole didn't want to go out again that day we just ended up hanging in their hotel room for the rest of the night, (we missed the One Piece panel, sadface!) but it was still fun and I finally left around one. (Oh yeah, and for some reason that morning I woke up at 3:16, so I was awake for about 22 hours just that first day.)
Then Matthew wakes me up (by getting up,) at sevenish the next morning; I get up, shower, zoom over to the girl's room to pick up my stuff I left, then start getting ready because there was a panel I wanted to go to at 10. But, since I'm not used to dressing up in any way, shape, or form, I was late and I told the boys to leave without me. Luckily for me the panel was also running late so I got there just as it started, and was able to enjoy it for a while. Then, (of course,) I realize that Matthew and I had a miscommunication and he had just been sitting in the hall waiting for me.
Okay, I love Matt, and I was worried because he told me he was starting to feel "blah." But I am still frustrated that he didn't even try to do anything to cheer himself up! He just read a book in the hall, occasionally texting me until I finally felt that I had to skip out on the end. So then I was a bit miffed because it had been the one thing I had actually wanted to do at SakuraCon; and then I got even more annoyed because we go to the trader's hall, find the girls, and he promptly ditches me! Yeah, talk about frustration.
Furthermore, the girls had already been through the hall the day before and just wanted to finish the last 1/4 that they hadn't got to see before, then they wanted to buy some stuff at specific booths; meanwhile I'm stuck following them, wondering when they're going to show me anything that I might enjoy...so then Matt texts me again to tell me that he feels lonely, because even though he has similar interests to the billions of people around us, (66,000 people actually, but it may as well have been billions.) he just can't connect with any of them. Since it didn't seem like Mithril and Nicole would even care if I went away I went to find my hubby and we bamphed around together.
After a while I couldn't handle the press of people anymore so we left the hall for a breather; I called up dad to tell him Matthew had bought me a sword, (I own a katana now!! I'm thinking of naming it, but I don't know what yet.) then we waited until Mithril called and made plans to meet up again...which didn't work because when she couldn't find us they left rather then calling back. It was very frustrating. Anyway, they wanted to take their loot, (or swag, as Matthew calls it,) to their hotel and then go to lunch. Matt and I decided to look around the hall one more time, then I'd join them for lunch and then we'd go home. Yes, I chose to go home a day early with my sweet hubby. I was really not having that great a time. :(
However! The best thing of the entire convention happened when we went back into the trader's hall! I loved a lot of the costumes, but I'm too uncomfortable talking to strangers to ask if I could take their picture...until I saw one person so absolutely amazing and fabulous that I had to ask. Who was this amazing person?
Sogeking. I have a picture of sogeking!!! (And Chopper leaning against him, but the Sogeking just made my entire weekend.) Plus, after I took their picture he asked why I hadn't dressed up and I mentioned we would soon be leaving, and I don't remember how but we somehow got on the topic of swords and he told me he had already bought the Master sword and a Hylian shield...
Yes, I immediately scourged the hall until I found them and I got the last shield being sold! I am sooooo flipping happy about it!
So, yeah. That was our weekend at SakuraCon. It was mostly and uncomfortable and unpleasant experience but I got a katana, the Master sword, Hylian shield, and a picture of Sogeking as my consolation prizes so I'm good. I'll put pictures of them up later, they're still on my phone. For now I will away! I really need to clean my house. xD

Happy New Year

So happy new year to the world!
Matt and I have been home less then a week and already I am missing my family like crazy! But at least there is modern technology that allows me to keep up with all those far spread chickens...I just wish I could do more then look at pictures or talk. Somebody really needs to invent a way to hug someone long distance. I would totally pay for that.
As for the Christmas haul this year...Matthew bought me two of the books I wanted, (one relating to color, and the other a big book of fairy tales!) as well as two things of perler beads. I'm excited to try them out too, I just don't know what it is I want to try making. Something small and easy first probably. Like Zelda sprites or something...I just don't know yet.
I also received two video games from Tyson, Tecia, Jamin, and Shanda...they got them from Matthew's wish list, (and then the little stinker actually told them that! >.<) but I don't care. I was touched that they would go so far to find something I'd like so I already decided I would give them both a try. Besides, one is a Mario game! Who could resist?
I got (for myself. :P) a box of hair dye, Chantilly perfume and body wash, as well as the traditional orange and toothbrush in my stocking. No candy for me this year~! Which is not that impressive considering how much candy I have consumed in this week alone. -_-()
The absolutely best present I received this year though came from my in-laws, who I shall be punishing severely for disobeying me! (Well...maybe. >.>) After we had finished unwrapping presents and were bamphing around together Matthew gets up and gets his car keys and while he's looking around for his shoes I ask him what he's doing. His answer? "Getting something from the car...that you can't kill my family for."
-_-
Yeah. I blew my top; he was giggling insanely when he came back with the gift because he could hear me shouting all the way at the bottom of the stairs. And then of course he actually showed me the huge freaking box and I had another conniption fit.
...But I will admit, when I opened it and saw what was inside...I just about died! My sewing machine has been out for months now, and in addition to having one that works now it is a brand, spanking new one! Like...computerized and everything! :D
Matt has been teasing me like crazy since then, but I can't help it! I am sooooo freaking happy!! I'm afraid my threats to destroy me family are all in vain now; and worst! They know it!
But, in order to keep such a thing from happening again, (it's the principle of the thing,) as well as to get them all off my case, and prevent anyone from feeling like they got me the wrong thing again, I came home and wrote out a giant freaking wishlist, which is now posted on my profile. No one may ever complain that I don't want anything ever again! >.<
Oh geez; I just saw that time and realized I'll have to wrap all this up, or save the rest for later. I'll try to remember to post what Matt got, and the families reactions to our gifts, (all good, I assure you.) :)
